Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Hawkins Media ("we") handles when you use The Hub, including The Hub app for Roku, and the choices you have. The short version: we use only what's needed to show you your gallery. We don't show ads, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't sell your information.

What The Hub does

The Hub shows a gallery of photos and films on your TV. A gallery is created by the photographer, studio or person who owns it, and is shared with the people they choose.

Information we handle

Your account. Your account is your email address, plus your name if you or your photographer add it. There's no password: we email you a one-time sign-in link each time you sign in. Your account shows only the galleries shared with you, on the web, on your phone and on your TV.
TVs signed in to your account. When you sign a TV in, we keep a record that the TV is signed in to your account and when it was last used, and the TV keeps its own sign-in on the device until you sign out. Sign-in codes shown on the TV expire after 10 minutes and work once.
Viewing activity. When a gallery is opened, we record that it was opened and when, so its owner can see that it's being viewed. When you mark a favorite or leave a review from a gallery, we store it with that gallery.
Technical information. Like any internet service, our servers receive your device's IP address and basic request details when the app loads your gallery. We use these to deliver the photos and films and to keep the service secure.

The Roku app asks only for the email address of your account. It does not ask for payment details or your location, and does not use your camera or microphone.

Photos and films

The photos and films in a gallery belong to the gallery's owner, who decides who can see them. They are stored with our service providers and delivered to your TV through short-lived, private links.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run The Hub: Supabase (database and sign-in) and Cloudflare (file storage and hosting). They process information only to provide their services to us. Roku collects its own information about how its devices are used, under Roku's privacy policy.

Sharing

We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share information only with the service providers above, with the gallery's owner as described here, or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

A TV stays signed in until you sign out (press Back, then choose Sign out). Your account is kept until you ask us to delete it. Gallery records are kept for as long as the gallery exists, under its owner's settings.

Your choices

Sign a TV out at any time from the app's menu.
Ask us to delete your account.
Ask the gallery's owner to turn off a link or remove a gallery.
Write to us to ask what we hold about you, or to correct or delete it.

Children

The Hub is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

Galleries are private by default and reached only through their links. Files are delivered through private links that expire, and access can be turned off at any time.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
